Karnataka has pristine waterfalls, some hidden from mankind and some well-known. Mischievously hidden deep inside the deep forest, these waterfalls when receive heavy rainfall are the prettiest sight to the eyes. Here is a list of some beautiful waterfalls near Bangalore.
Unchalli falls, also called as Lushington falls and sometimes Keppa Joga, because of the deafening sound they make, are formed by a 116 metres drop in the Aghanashini river. You can reach here by trekking from Heggarne through thick forest.
Kumardhara river being the main source of this waterfall, situated in the northern area of Kodagu district this waterfall merges with several rivers and finally opens in the Arabian Sea. The road to the falls is a rough patch and you might want to park your vehicle.
Also, known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, this waterfall is in the Brahmagiri range, Kodagu district. This waterfall is a freshwater cascade and is covered by forest. You can hike through the forest and the waterfall to reach the Brahmagiri peak.
Considered as one of the most beautiful waterfall in Karnataka, this waterfall is located in the foothills of Kodachadri. You can reach here only by a four hour long hike from Valur.
The Sathoddi falls are located near the Kallaramane Ghat, in Uttara Kannada district, near yellapur.
It is formed by several unnamed streams which then flow into the backwaters of Kodasalli dam. A small mud trail will lead you to the cascade.
