I love staycations since they save time & headache of travelling, excessive packing and if you have kids you would know sometimes travelling to other cities becomes a nightmare, specially when the child is under 5 years. We often take a break from our busy lives and move into a hotel for one or two days within the city. This time we chose to stay at The Suryaa Hotel New Delhi, which is situated at one of the prime locations in Delhi – New Friends Colony. The Suryaa Hotel is a 5 star deluxe hotel with 244 rooms including Deluxe rooms & suites.
The Suryaa Hotel New Delhi offers 4 categories in accommodation – Deluxe Rooms, Club Rooms, Deluxe Suite & Luxury Suite.
We stayed in the Deluxe Suite which is front facing and offers a beautiful view of the Lotus Temple.
The deluxe suite is quite spacious and has two rooms, one living and one bed room. Both the rooms have LCD TV, the interiors have been kept quite minimal & simple, which is something that surprised me because being a 5 star hotel I was expecting some bling & interesting pieces in the room. Bed room had king size bed, one couch & table. Living room had sofa set, LCD, study table & bar area. Bath room was quite huge with a bath tub.
View from the suite, overlooking the pool area –
Hotel The Suryaa – New Delhi has Spa, Gym, Salon. Gym was huge and well equipped with state of the art equipments. Spa & Salon are a recent addition to the property hence there is a room for improvement. There are Steam & Sauna rooms, Hydro bath tubs, Jacuzzi and Chill Pool apart from a huge locker room and 4 shower cubicles.
Spa offers Ayurvedic Health Treatments & Massages besides conventional Swiss Massages.
I got a chance to experience Club One Salon Services. After a hectic day – A Hair Spa & relaxing Foot massage were the only treatments I could have asked for, I was too tired to try out facials but the level of service and humbleness of staff made the experience fantastic.
From the moment we entered the hotel to the time we checked out, staff of The Suryaa Hotel ensure seamless experience. We were greeted by the team and they made sure to send over freshly baked muffins for my daughter. I also like the One Touch service that the hotel offers, which means you no longer have to struggle with different extensions for different services e.g. room service, in room dinning etc. Press the One Touch button on telephone and the operator will send in the desired products/ services in your room. In room service/ dinning was also quite fast. Staff made sure that we feel at home.
Guests can enjoy buffet breakfasts, lunch & Dinner at Ssence, and believe me the spread wouldn’t leave you disappointed. Think of veg, non-veg dishes, salads, juices or bakery items, the spread has it all ! They also boast of a memorable Sunday brunch which starts at 12 and goes on till 4 pm.
Sampan on the other hand offers pan-asian cuisine, I love everything about that restaurant. The city view, lip smackingly good food, humble staff & comfort, and nothing exorbitantly priced. I got a chance to taste the new menu, which I will talk about in a separate post soon.
Overall I will highly recommend The Suryaa Hotel if you are looking for a home away from home, comfortable stay, good food and amazing hospitality. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy another memorable stay. The location is amazing, with NFC market just on a walking distance and close to the district centre’s like Jasola, Mohan Cooperative, Apollo Hospital, Nehru Place and Ashram.
Value for Money: 4/5
